The Promise.

Day after day, months after months, we keep promising ourselves that we will change, we will improve, we will be the best version of ourselves, the one that we want to be, the one we desire. But day after day, months after months, we keep falling back into our old habits & patterns. If failing isn't enough, we criticize ourselves for failing, we beat ourselves up for not living up to our standards. But Why?

Would you behave the same way if it would have been someone you love? Would you berate them for failing or support them & accept them just the way they are? Would you taunt them at every failure or tell them that no matter what they achieve in life, their mere existence is enough for you & you love them unconditionally? Most of us would do the latter, if our friend, sibling, partner, or colleague would be struggling in life, we would always be there for them, to support them, to encourage them. Then why do we fail to do that when it comes to ourselves? Why do we become our biggest critics instead of our biggest supporter?

Today, let's promise ourselves, to love ourselves unconditionally, to accept ourselves, to not be disappointed in ourselves when we fail to achieve something, to stop comparing ourselves with others. Let's promise to not be brutal, but compassionate. Let's Promise to Show up for ourselves. Let's promise to make that inner voice our friend instead of an enemy. Let's promise to be enough, just the way we are!

Can you promise that?

  1. "What you are seeking outside is within you". Promise is nothing when efforts are not there. Will definitely try to do that. Quite thoughtful and awakening. Thanks.
